Hello! I'm just a regular person who occasionally buys stocks. I wasn't really into cryptocurrency, but it has clearly become a big part of the financial world, so I decided I had to figure out whether or not I wanted to be involved.
I don't remember exactly when or where I first heard this idea, but about ten years ago, someone suggested that if you're not sure whether to bet for or against crypto, a straightforward strategy is to look at crypto's total market cap compared to the total stock market cap and invest that same percentage in crypto.
That's how this website was born. I built it to keep track of the crypto market size and decide how much to allocate. Of course, there are more details—like which cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, and so on—but I wanted a simple metric as a starting point.
We get data from the eodhd.com API and the CoinMarketCap API.
The data is updated daily at 9 AM EST.
We add up the total market cap of all cryptocurrencies and divide it by the total market cap of all stocks.
We use reputable APIs to provide the most up-to-date information possible. Markets can be volatile, so consider this number a helpful guideline rather than a definitive investment recommendation.
This ratio is a simplified approach. Always do your own research and consider consulting a financial advisor if you're unsure.
Feel free to share your honest feedback or ask any questions—I'd really appreciate hearing from you!
